About the Role:

They are looking for a motivated and talented individual to join the rapidly expanding team as an Assistant Manager. The selected individual will require outside of the box thinking, high independence, and confidence. They will be able to build strong relationships with both clients and management, as well as meeting strict deadlines. The client base is highly diverse covering construction, insurance, professional services, retail, and property.

Responsibilities:

  • Able to oversee a small portfolio of your own and manage the expectation of both the clients and Partner’s. This includes the allocating, planning, and reviewing jobs as well as regularly contacting and meeting clients
  • Being involved in Business Development, and the growth and development of the respective portfolios in which you are involved
  • Some involvement in the company’s complex accounts/audit assignments, this includes seeing these through from planning to completion
  • Assist the line Manager with the tasks required for smooth running of Partner’s portfolio and production line. This includes chasing client’s information, overseeing production, finalising accounts, and submitting documents
  • Understand the clients' requirements, monitor progress against internal budgets and agreed fees
  • Track the key deadlines for statutory filings such as company accounts
  • Consult with different departments for connected services including personal tax returns, and company secretarial matters
  • Mentor and help in the training and development of junior members of staff
  • Be involved with Practice Development, including marketing, and developing internal systems and controls

 

Requirements

  • Possesses a minimum of 5 years’ experience working within practice
  • Has an accounting qualification with a regulatory body (including ICAEW/ACCA)
  • Has good technical accounting experience in UK GAAP and FRS 102
  • Some experience with IFRS is ideal
  • Able to lead audits and non-audit assignments, from planning to completion
  • Able to work with complex and group audits
  • Experience in delegating and supervising team members on audit assignments
  • A record of delivering results and meeting client/Partner/Manager expectations
  • Some experience in mentoring and training staff
